COMMONWEALTH OF REDMONT







A BILL TO

ENABLE THE REQUEST OF HONORS AND AWARDS AS PHYSICAL ITEMS





The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the Constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:

PART I — PRELIMINARIES

1. Short Title and Enactment


(1) This Act may be cited as the ‘Material Awards Act’.

(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signing.

(3) This Act has been authored by Dearev Silva and Plura Glasshouse.

(4) This Act has been sponsored by Plura Glasshouse and co-sponsored by [Co-Sponsor Name].

(5) This Act amends the following Acts:

(a) Honors and Awards Act

2. Reasons and Intent

(1) To award recipients of honors and awards under the Honors and Awards Act with Physical Items in recognition of their achievements.

3. Definitions

(1) For the purposes of this Act, the following definitions shall apply:

(a) Physical Item. A tangible in-game object that may exist within a player’s inventory and may be collected, stored, or displayed.

(b) Honors and Awards. Shall be construed as a reference to all orders, honours, and awards contained within the Honors and Awards Act or other Acts of the Commonwealth of Redmont which have since been repealed or superseded.

(c) Physical Award. A Physical Item awarded as an Honor or Award under this Act.

PART II — Amendments

4. Amends the Honors and Awards Act as follows:

10. Any holder of an Honor or Award shall have the right to request up to one Physical Award per Honor or Award granted to the requestee.

(1) This request shall be made with the Department of Education.

(2) The requestee shall provide the Department of Education with proof of their award.

(3) The Department of Education may charge up to $1000 for this process.

(4) The Department of Education shall mail the Award to the requestee within up to 30 days if the request is verified and approved.

(5) The Department of Education shall be responsible for determining which Physical Item shall be awarded, with the minimum requirements being:

(a) The Physical Award’s name shall correspond to the name of the relevant award.

(b) The item shall contain a particular description in order to prevent falsification of awards.

(c) The Department of Education may determine which description shall be added to the item.

11. Non-Transferability

(1) Physical Awards issued under this Act shall be considered commemorative and ceremonial in nature.

(2) Possession of a Physical Award shall not constitute proof of holding an honor or award absent official government records.

(3) Physical Awards may not be sold or otherwise transferred without first being offered back to the Department of Education for the price of $0.01 (one cent).
