A
BILL
TO
Reform Drug Laws

The people of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:
1 - Short Title and Enactment
This Act may be cited as the “LDV Wokeridge Act”
This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
This Bill was authored by Vice President LilDigiVert & Rep. Mhadsher101
This Bill was co-sponsored by Sen. Muffins

2 - Reasons

I wish everyone could tell me exactly what they need for me
The first second they speak to me, I'm not with all the secrecy
Secretly beefin' me behind closed doors
But playin' it peacefully for the streets to see
My homie, have some decency

Don't move like a puto
Could at least keep it a buck like Antetokounmpo
I made north of the border like Vito Rizzuto
Throwin' parties in Miami, they lovin' us mucho
With the whole ratio, I'm like Alex Caruso
There's a mad shortage of people givin' me kudos
I been doin' this since Tech was promisin’ us new phones

You tell 'em I run the country, they'll say "Tru-deau"
Papi chulo, grippin' culo
And I got the flows. reps steal like boot toes
You boys reachin' new lows
Lettin' me take the wrath of that Casper The Ghost thing
While you findin' all of the loopholes
You politicians move too cold
See the watch collection and assume I got time
'Cause of the ruby rose two-tone
I switch it to the one I call "R.I.P. Nipsey"
'Cause I swear to God the bezel got 60 of them blue stones
Maybe I'm gettin' too stoned

3 - Reasons

Boosts town autonomy by giving mayors the option to be flexible and legalize certain drug laws.
This is already the status quo in Oakridge, who legalized drugs. All it takes is one member of the DoJ to enforce this law and multiple businesses will be put in legal jeopardy.

4- Amendments

Add Section 4. To “Drug Trafficking and Possession Legalization Act”:

4- Locale

1. This law shall be strictly enforced in Hamilton and all federal land.
2. By default, this law shall be enforced in all towns.
3. Each town's mayor may elect to waive the enforcement of this law.

Veto

This bill is hereby vetoed.

While I remained on the fence on this bill, I have spoken to the Secretary of Justice, and we believe that it would cause more harm than benefit to the functions of criminal justice and the existence of criminal roleplay. I simply cannot ignore the concerns of the Justice Department.

This would (a) cause confusion among police officers as to whether or not a drug is legal to sell; (b) harm the existing black market for criminal roleplay; and (c) can create legal ambiguity.

While I am an advocate for town autonomy, and supportive of measures to allow towns to waive certain laws, more consideration needs to be given when providing the ability to waive laws such as drug trafficking.
