Keep our Promises

The citizens of Oakridge, through their elected Representatives in the Town-Council and the force of law ordained to that Town-Council by the people through the constitution of Oakridge, do hereby enact the following provisions into the by-laws:

1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the 'Keep our Promises Act.'
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) This Act has been authored by: Yeet_Boy
(4) This Act has been co-sponsored by: zLost

2 - Reasons
(1) A major promise of both candidates in the previous Oakridge Mayor election was to make Mayor elections every 4 months.
(2) The Presidential term is only 4 months - a town Mayor does not need 6 month terms.
(3) Progress would be even higher if there were new, motivated faces every 4 months - after a while, Mayors tend to get tired and slow down. Which is understandable, but should be avoided when it can be avoided.

3 - Amendment

The Oakridge Constitution shall be amended as follows:

From:

Article IV - A term of the Oakridge Town Council Advisor shall last for 2 months. No person shall serve more than 3 consecutive terms in any position.

To:

Article IV - A term of the Mayor of Oakridge shall last for 4 months. A term of an Oakridge Town Council Member shall last for 2 months. No person shall serve more than 3 consecutive terms in any position.

Note: This will take effect after the current Mayor term ends.
