IRONIC ACT
A
BILL
To
Amend the constitution
The people of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:
1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the “IRONIC Act”
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) The Act has been co-sponsored by: Deputy Speaker of House xLayzur, DCT Secretary Mhadsher101
2 - Purpose
(1) Members of Congress are charged with the duty of serving the people of Redmont with their control over the laws of Redmont, therefore they must be perfect, impartial, and silent individuals when it comes to anything other than Congress.
3 - Congressional Independence
(1) Representatives and Senators can only talk about matters involving Congress. They cannot comment on contentious matters that do not involve Congress.
(2) Representatives and Senators cannot engage in investments because their lawmaking can affect the market.
(3) Representatives and Senators should avoid impropriety and the appearance of impropriety in activities revolving around the law and their finances.
(4) Representatives and Senators should not allow family, social, political, financial, or other relationships to influence their congressional conduct or judgment.
(5) A Representatives and Senators should neither lend the prestige of the congressional office to advance the private interests of the Representatives and Senatorsor others nor convey or permit others to convey the impression that they are in a special position to influence the Representatives and Senators.
4 - Additional Responsibilities
(1) Representatives and Senators cannot use their office to benefit any presidential campaign since it does not pertain to Congressional matters.
(2) Representatives and Senators should not make public comment involving internal congressional matters unless in the course of official duties.
(3) Representatives and Senators should refrain from giving their opinion on a contentious legal matter.
5 - Punishment
(1) Breaking any part of this regulation will result in the immediate recall of Representatives or Senators as they cannot be trusted to be voted out themselves.
(2) A case will be launched against the violating Representatives and Senators that shall go immediately before the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court shall immediately take a vote on the issue without arguments from the defendant on whether or not the Representative or Senator should be removed from office, afterwards the case shall be adjourned.
