How do you plan on using your grant funding?
The RDC Food Bank plans on using this grant funding to help design, improve, and create more semi automated farms to help support our food bank. We have currently created a farm design and are using it to help produce food to supply our food banks With this grant money, not only can we create more farms to help produce more food to support the current food bank and any future ones; we can also improve the design to be more efficient.
Right now, it costs about $4k to set up one farm, we plan on setting up 2 more this month. Equating to $16k (including the two farms that is already set up but haven't been compensated for yet).
Workers are needed to help maintain and run the non-automatic parts of the farm. With pay of 3k/week per worker, and 4 workers are needed to run the 4 farms. Equating to $48k/month.
Plots are needed to actually build, design, and run the farms. With 4 locations costings about $1k/month each. That equates to $4k/month.
Locations need to be renovated to house the food banks and the farms, costing upwards of $4k.
In total, that costs $72k
And as we are a non-profit, there is no feasible and reliable way for us to cover these expenses.
