Amend the LSA​

The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the Constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:

1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the 'Grammarly Act'.
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) This Act has been authored by Clerk Lethacracy.
(4) This Act has been co-sponsored by Speaker bibsfi4a.

2 - Reasons
(1) To ensure the longevity of Acts of Congress

3 - Terms
Section “8 - The Office of Congressional Affairs” shall be amended as follows:
(8) Office of Congressional Affairs Commentary
(i) During a bill’s draft period, the Office of Congressional Affairs (or its Designee) may recommend grammatical corrections or legal changes to the bill to ensure its legal stability and longevity. The Office may not recommend changes to the Act’s underlying theme (the “spirit” of the law”), but it can make suggestions to improve the Act’s legality. Any/all changes must be approved by the original author of the bill.

It is not the Clerk’s job to write and amend laws.

Its not the Clerk’s job to interpret the laws.

There are processes for congress to change how a bill reads and it should not be amended outside of those processes.
