A
RESOLUTION
TO

Make Transportation Free

The people of Democracy Craft, through their elected Representatives in the Congress do hereby formally enact this non-binding resolution, as a request to our Government:

1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Resolution may be cited as the " Free Transportation Resolution April 2021"
(2) This Resolution shall act as a formal recommendation to the Department of Construction and Transport.

2 - Reasons:
People should have the right to use freely the public transport, therefore, this bill is proposed. Having to pay to go to a town discourages people from going too often to towns, therefore, if we make it free, more people will go to towns and they will have more commerce and will improve. Also, the metro system would be more used if it was free.

3 - All current Public Transport in Hamilton City must now cost $0.

NAY - Congress does not have this power, The power to decide transport prices is vested in the Executive and as such this is a breach of separation of powers.

I urge the Executive to veto this if this passes the congress and then pursue legal action.

Nay - Not our place. Executive balances the budget and it's a form of income that funds executive projects, therefore it's up to the executive, not representatives wanting to make popular resolutions that involve making something really cheap free. Transport is extremely cheap already anyway.

Aye - This is a resolution and transportation has zero upkeep and maintenance cost and as such it's silly that it costs money.
