Amend the Aventura Property Standards Act​

BE IT ENACTED by the Mayor and Council of Aventura:

1 - Short Title and Enactment

(1) This Act may be cited as the 'Free the beacons Act'.
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.


2 - Reasons

(1) The beacon restriction is no longer necessary for the administration of Aventura properties.
(2) Property owners should have greater flexibility in the use of their plots.

3 - Amendments

(1) The following section shall be removed from the Aventura Property Standards Act:

"16 - Beacon Policy

(1) Plots shall not contain activated beacons.
(a) First offense: $100 Fine + Verbal Warning
(b) Second offense: $500 Fine + Plot Eviction"

(3) All sections, subsections, and references appearing after the repealed section shall be renumbered as appropriate to maintain sequential numbering and internal consistency within the Aventura Property Standards Act.
