Amend the Criminal Code Act

The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:

1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the 'Embezzlement Definition Clarification Act'
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) This Act has been authored and proposed by Deputy Speaker RealImza.
(4) This Act has been co-sponsored by Representative Scassany.

2 - Reasons
(1) The current definition of embezzlement in the Criminal Code Act is heavily flawed.
(2) As an example, embezzling from the government is currently not illegal.
(3) This act aims to fix that.

3 - Amendment
(1) Part VII of the Criminal Code Act shall be amended as follows:

"
6 - Embezzlement
Offence Type: Indictable
Penalty: Up to 100 Penalty Units; 10 minutes imprisonment
A person commits an offence if the person:
(a) withholds assets entrusted to them and converts them for personal gain in a company they do not own 100% of.
(a) fraudulently and knowingly misappropriates assets that have been entrusted to them, or have lawfully come into their possession by virtue of office, employment, or position of trust.
