- I show in my application why you are best suited for the position.
- I am able to work effectively and efficiently in a team with all members of the department.

What position are you applying for? Economist

Why do you think you are suited to the position you are applying for? I would like to apply to become an Economist so that I can have access to CPI data and help create seasoned reports and discussions with fellow Economists, and begin a career in market and trade journalism. I would also like to further my understanding of the Commonwealth's supply chains and trade behaviours, having run a partially successful business, Trident, based on addressing resource scarcity for capital-intensive goods such as enchanted armour and tools. I would like to disseminate information and guidance not only with fellow DOC Economists and employees but also with Congress and the Government by crafting high-quality economic analysis and reports with neat presentations of graphs and data, with permission and with openly available data of course. I would like to experiment with models and hypotheticals relating to the economy of Redmont, for example, analysing the effects of a potential Quantitative Easing scheme on GDP and inflation through the minting of currency as a potential antidote to our current post-financial crisis stagnation, and analysing all the potential benefits and potential issues.

I have an A-Level in Economics and read many Economics textbooks whilst studying my undergraduate degree (unrelated to Economics). My economics knowledge is rough but I've covered Macroeconomics; an analysis of large scale economic activity not limited to GDP measurement, inflation, unemployment, fiscal/monetary policy, business cycles (e.g. IS-LM model, AD-AS framework), Keynesian economics, and international macroeconomic trends (applied to DC would account for Foreign Exchange and monetary supply). Microeconomics: analysis of business-to-person level economic activity, not limited to; Supply/demand, market structures (perfect competition, monopoly/oligopoly), consumer theory, Game theory basics, public goods, externalities, information asymmetry, partial equilibrium analysis, etc. Econometrics; statistical analysis utilising regression analysis, hypothesis testing and modelling, time-series models (ARIMA), instrumental variable analysis, machine learning and data display (sci-kit learn, Tensorflow, y-finance,matplotlib via Python personally). Finance: understanding tax systems (progressive vs regressive), budgeting, public accounting, public goods provision, fiscal policy multipliers, debt sustainability, value chains, trade policies, comparative advantage. Monetary systems: Central banking operations, inflation forecasting, money supply mechanisms, Quantitative easing, Monetarism (Friedman theory), Keynesian Phillips Curve. Economic History, not limited to: classic economic theory (Smith/Ricardo, Marx, Keynesianism), neoclassical synthesis, Austrian school (Friedman) theory, long-term trends (Industrial Revolution, depopulation, brain-drain and migration), cliometrics.

My background in other department work, such as the Department of Education, further shows my ability to work as a teammate, provide high-quality written research and communication, and my ability to quickly learn and understand procedures and rules established by the Department, convention, practice, and law. I hope my inputs to your department are appreciated.

Additional Information: IRL knowledge examples same used in my first Professor application as I was hoping to write guides on DC Economics as a Professor for the DoE.
