Bill: Draft Deputize The Departments Act

Help delegate the tasks of our different departments

The residents of Willow, through their elected representatives in the Council and the force of law ordained to that Council by the people through the Willow Constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:

1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the 'Deputize The Departments Act.'
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) This Act has been authored by Daiseeyy.
2 - Reasons
(1) To assist in the delegation & oversight of our different government branches
(2) To help facilitate quicker work & having a second voice of authority within each branch.

3 - Deputy Elections
(1) Deputies will be nominated by the Heads of each branch, out of their current members who hold Willow residency.
(2) The nomination will then be taken before the council, where they will vote whether or not they agree with this pick.
(3) Should the department cycle through all of their available employees, a resident of Willow not currently elected a government position within the town may be nominated.
(4) Should no suitable nomination be given, or should the Head of the department request such, they will operate without a deputy.

4 - Deputy Powers & Responsibilities
(1) Deputies will carry similar authority within their department, being able to delegate tasks and, if given the authority by a commission member, speak on behalf of the commission.
(2) They have the responsibility of working with their head of department to make sure everything runs seamlessly, they may assist in whatever manners they like within their department, but ultimately must obey & operate under the orders of their Head.

5 - Removal of Deputies
(1) Should a Deputy be deemed unfit for the position, a vote may be held within that branch of government, reaching a majority decision. Should a majority decision pass, A vote will be passed to the commissioners with a result of at least 3 Ayes.

6 - Term of a Deputy
(1) A Deputy will remain in their position for the same amount of time as the election cycle of the town itself.
