BILL
TO

Amend the Constitution and the Executive Standards Act and to provide for a Department for the Attorney General’s Office.

The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives and Senators in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:

(1) This Act may be cited as the “Department of Homeland Security Act”.
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately after it has been signed into law.
(3) Authored by Rep. xEndeavour
(4) Co-Sponsored by Rep. Reaperay

2 - Reasons
(1) The Attorney General’s Office is an under-appreciated and under-resourced de facto department.
(2) It is commonplace around the world that the Department of Justice is headed by an Attorney General and manages Government legal affairs.
(3) To allow the Police Force to retain a Secretarial role, it is proposed that a new Department be established to oversee the Redmont Police Force.
(4) The Department overseeing the Redmont Police Force will have extended powers concerning the intelligence functions of the Government.
