TO

provide anti-retaliation protections for antitrust whistleblowers.

The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:

1 - Short Title and Enactment

(1) This Act may be cited as the “Criminal Antitrust Anti-retaliation Act”.
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) This Bill was authored by Representative Icypenguin79.

2 - Reasons

(1) Businesses can retaliate against whistleblowers.

3 - Terms

(1) No employer may discharge, demote, suspend, threaten, harass, or in any other manner discriminate against a covered individual in the terms and conditions of employment of the covered individual because of any lawful act done by the covered individual to provide information to the Department of Education and Commerce any information relating to any violation of, or any act or omission the covered individual reasonably believes to be a violation of the Antitrust Act.

(2) Section 1 of this bill does not apply to individuals who planned and initiated, or attempted, a violation of the Antitrust Act.

(3) If Section 1 is violated by an employer the individual discriminated against can file a complaint and shall be entitled to all relief necessary to make the covered individual whole, including:
(a) reinstatement with the same seniority status that the covered individual would have had; and
(b) the amount of back pay the individual would have received.
