BILL
To
Grant Congress Tax Powers
The people of Democracy Craft, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:
1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the “Congressional Tax Power Act”.
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
2 – Reasons
(1) The people pay taxes, and therefore tax law should be decided by elected officials to ensure the people’s will is carefully considered by the tax code.
(2) In the case that the Congress cannot reach a consensus, the DEC must still retain the power to make modifications to prevent bankruptcy.
3 - Terms
(1) The Congress may pass legislation to dictate the tax code.
(2) No tax bill may specifically target any individual or corporation.
(3) Tax bills may target specific industries.
(4) The DEC may enact tax policy so long as it does not conflict with Congressionally approved tax policy.
