To Protect the State from Foreign Interference
The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:
1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the “Allegiance Act.”
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) The Act has been sponsored by Representative ToadKing.
(4) The Act has been co-sponsored by Representative Moyfr.
2 - Reasons
(1) To ensure that Senior Officials are focused on the affairs of the Commonwealth of Redmont.
(2) Due to increasing escalation by the Kingdom of Alexandria.
3 - Definitions
(1) Senior Official:
(a) Executive Officer as defined in §28(3) of the Constitution
(b) A Member of the Federal Court
(c) A Member of the Supreme Court
(d) A Member of Congress
(2) Foreign Position:
(a) A Member of Parliament
(b) A Chancellor of the Chancery
(c) The Monarch
(d) Secretary
4 - Enforcement
(1) In order to serve as a Senior Official, the office holder must not hold a Foreign Position in the Kingdom of Alexandria concurrently.
(2) Any official found to be in service to a foreign nation under the above provisions must be removed from office.
5 - Transition Period
(1) All currently serving Senior Officials have 14 days following the enactment of this Act before §4 comes into force.
(2) Any currently declared candidates or currently elected Senior Officials are exempt from §4 until they are next up for election.
