We, amah La Banca (amah853), James Holmes (00f3), and xVoltrix, move to establish the BAR Education Committee, which shall be responsible for organizing educational programs and resources to assist new and existing legal practitioners.
The Committee shall consist of the following positions:
- Mock Trial Director: Manages the BAR Mock Trial Program, including organizing trials and appointing staff.
- Legal Guides Director: Develops educational resources, study guides, and tutoring opportunities to help individuals prepare for legal examinations and practice law.
- Firm Relations Director: Manages an active law firm directory within the BAR discord server and corresponds with active law firm discord server in an effort to connect people for employment opportunities, pro bono work, and case supervision for low qualifications.
All Committee members shall be appointed by a vote of the BAR Council and may serve regardless of whether they are Councillors or not.
Individual Directors shall retain authority over the daily operations and staffing of their respective programs, subject to BAR Council oversight.
The existing BAR Mock Trial Program shall operate under the Education Committee, with its current Director, staff, and operations remaining unchanged.
