Introduction

The Supreme Court of Redmont acts as the final Constitutional Court and a check on the legislative and executive. All precedent set by the Supreme Court is binding on the lower courts under the practice of stare decisis. It is important that lawyers and any player who is filing a lawsuit understand the rules and procedures the Supreme Court follows. It is also important that all Justices have a full understanding of all cases as the decision the Supreme Court makes it binding among the lower courts.

Rules

All rules established in Court Rules and Procedures remain the same in the Supreme Court and will be strictly enforced by the Chief Justice. All rules should be followed as they are in District and Federal Courts. All lawyers are expected to respect and follow all rules of the Court.

Procedures

The procedures of the Supreme Court are slightly different than the procedures outlined in the Court Rules and Procedures. Both the plaintiff and defendant shall present opening arguments to the Court. After both parties present have presented their opening arguments, the Court will call for witnesses and expert testimony. When listing witnesses, the party must state their relevance to the case.
After cross-examination, the Justices may ask any relevant questions to one or both parties. Questions may be about points made in opening arguments or relevant law. After a question (or questions) have been asked, the questioned party is obliged to answer the question with 24 hours of the question being asked. All Justices may ask as many or few questions as they wish.
When all Justices have had their questions, the Court well then ask for closing remarks form both start: first from the plaintiff, then from the defendant. After closing remarks, the Justices will the enter conference, headed by the Chief Justice, to discuss the case, draft opinions, and draft the Opinion of the Court.
