To

Enhance Police Investigative Powers

The people of Democracy Craft, through their elected Representatives in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:

1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the “Police Investigations Act”.
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(3) Authored by Representative hugebob23456

2 - Reasons
(1) As it currently stands, the Police have little power to investigate recurring or organized crime.

3 - Terms
(1) The Secretary of the Department of Justice, or anyone assuming the regular powers of such Secretary in accordance with other legislation, shall have the power to designate any individual as a Confidential Informant. Confidential Informants shall be granted legal immunity for any violations of any explicitly stated laws as part of their Confidential Informant agreement. For example, the DOJ may enlist someone as a Confidential Informant with immunity to Drug Possession for the purpose of discovering illicit drug distributors. The Secretary of the Department of Justice, or anyone assuming the regular powers of such Secretary in accordance with other legislation, may revoke the Confidential Informant status of any such person.
(2) The Secretary of the Department of Justice may designate other specific people or roles (such as Sergeants) within the Department of Justice which may have the power to designate Confidential Informants.
(3) In the event that a Confidential Informant has their Confidential Informant status revoked, they may not then be charged for crimes which they committed during their time as a Confidential Informant that were protected by their specific Confidential Informant agreement.
