Amend the Constitution, the Office of the Attorney General Act, and the Executive Standards Act and to provide for a Department for the Attorney General.



The people of the Commonwealth of Redmont, through their elected Representatives and Senators in the Congress and the force of law ordained to that Congress by the people through the constitution, do hereby enact the following provisions into law:



1 - Short Title and Enactment

(1) This Act may be cited as the “Attorney General’s Department”.
(2) This Act shall be enacted immediately after it has been signed into law.

2 - Reasons
(1) The Attorney General’s Office has expanded its resource need and responsibility to the extent that it should be considered a de facto department.
(2) The Redmond Bar Association should be an independent organization.

3 - Department of the Attorney General

(1) The following is added before Section 8 in the Executive Standards Act and will be reflected in the constitution:

  1. The department is charged with legally defending, investigating, and prosecuting on behalf of the Government. The department is charged with the employment of Prosecutors and Legal Officers. The Department of the Attorney General shall represent the government in court and shall give advice to the Cabinet and Congress on legal matters.

  2. B. The Secretary of the Department of the Attorney General shall be referred to as “The Attorney General”.

(2) The following will be amended in Section 10 of the Executive Standards Act and will be reflected in the constitution:

The Attorney General will be added to the Executive Succession above subsection f and below subsection e in its current form.

4 - The Redmond Bar Association

  1. The Redmond Bar Association shall no longer be overseen by the Attorney General and will become an independent organisation regulated only by congress tasked with regulating the legal field and providing Public Defenders to those in need. The Redmond Bar Association shall have the sole authority to disbar lawyers and revoke their licence.


4 - Removal

(1) The following will be removed from the Constitution:

  1. Offices of the Attorney General: Charged with legally defending, investigating, and prosecuting on behalf of the Government. The Office oversees the Redmont Bar Association and is charged with the employment of Prosecutors and Office employees. The Office of the Attorney General while an executive Office is to act in an unbiased fashion, No member of the Office of the Attorney General may legally represent or assist in intergovernmental dispute between the Legislative and Executive.
  2. The Attorney General ceases to be an Executive Officer.
